One way to do this is by packing a punch in your décor with some zesty colours that bring life to your space. “Our favourite colour this season is yellow. Not only does it add vivacity, but when teamed with shades like emerald or black, it makes the space youthful,” says designer Sanjyt Syngh.

Next up, choose the right kind of furniture for your TV lounge – something comfortable, luxurious and stylish that speaks for your personality. An eclectic combination of furniture pieces allows you to change posture, even as it adds diverse shapes and contours. Cushions help you impart colour and patterns. “And, the fabric of the upholstery should feel nice against your skin, comfort is of utmost importance.”

No space is complete without some hand-picked accessories – décor articles, artworks, sculptures, lamps, potted plants, etc. Throws play a very important part in this space for when you feel the chill from the air conditioning.

“We always like to introduce bold art in this space. When your television is not in use, there should be something to overpower the black rectangle,” says the designer.
