OTM Mumbai Rolls Out the Red Carpet For the Travel Stars of the World

The most anticipated travel tradeshow in India, OTM Mumbai opens from February 3-5 2020 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. As the leading travel show in Asia-Pacific, OTM has yet again brought the stars of the travel industry together under one roof for their exclusive annual event.

Who’s Who of Global Travel at OTM

As India’s longest running travel tradeshow, OTM has an exclusive core of regular exhibitors that continue to return for the event of the year, every year. OTM is the most international travel tradeshow in the country. It has 1000+ exhibitors from 55 countries and National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) of 24 countries. Mumbai is the largest source market in India, for the outbound as well as the domestic travel sectors in India. It is also the favorite port of exit for the West and South India markets, catering to more than two-thirds of the Indian outbound market.
International exhibitors include premium destinations from Europe, Africa and the Americas, in addition to the largest contingents from Asia, many of them choosing OTM as their only event in India.
Greece is continuing its participation in OTM for the fourth year in a row, as their only tradeshow promotion in India. The delegation from Greece includes tens of quality suppliers, led by none other than the Minister of Tourism. OTM is the only show in India where NTOs of exotic destinations like Egypt, Palestine and Romania are present. NTO’s from Africa via Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda are strongly present at OTM—the only tradeshow of their choice in India.
Sri Lanka is coming back to OTM after a hiatus of a few years, in its bid to tap into the largest travel market in India. The Sri Lankan pavilion will have 40+ co-participants—one of the largest overseas delegations at OTM. Indonesia is positioned as the partner country of OTM, with a massive pavilion and the largest ever delegation of 35 co-participants. Other Asian superstars at OTM include Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Taiwan, Thailand and Nepal.
OTM’s 2020 finds 15 new International destinations joining the travel A-List in India. Azerbaijan, for example, is setting up a brand new pavilion at OTM after years of its emerging urban capital, Baku, topping the charts as an Indian outbound destination. 1000+ exhibitors at OTM also include India’s local heroes and diverse hidden gems. Over 30 State Tourism Boards and Union Territories are set to exhibit—many with stunning pavilions that highlight their unique cultural aesthetics. Karnataka and Odisha pavilions are consistent visitor favorites and local exhibitors consider OTM to be a crucial platform for reaching the expansive Indian travel market. Along with international and local destinations, OTM invites specially selected hotels, travel tech companies, airlines, cruise companies and more.

Buyers at OTM

OTM invites a range of hand-selected travel trade and corporate travel buyers from within India as VIP guests in their Hosted Buyer Program. Decision makers from ICICI, Ericsson, Reliance, Adani, Sharekhan, Mahindra, Raymond, Network 18 and many more are being hosted at the show.
In total, 700+ travel trade all-stars visit the show each year.
MICE buyers, wedding planners and top production houses will also be present to have in-depth interactions with premiere destinations. Through OTM’s unique culture and infrastructural support, exhibitors and attendees are encouraged to have rich, engaging meetings and make world-changing new deals.
In addition to meetings, attendees can join in on OTM Forum 2020, a series of daily panel discussions, Q&A sessions and masterclasses from knowledge leaders in the travel industry. 2020’s speakers include representatives from Lufthansa, MakeMyTrip, PayPal, WhatsApp and many more.
Beyond OTM’s exclusive network of exhibitors and attendees, the brand is well-connected with 14 travel trade associations which attract top buyers from all over India.

What’s New in 2020?

Cine Locales
India is the largest producer of films in the world and Mumbai is its hub. Indian travelers both at home and abroad are known for following films to new and exotic locations. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, a Bollywood movie, boosted Indian arrivals in Spain by 32 percent. Recognizing this unique influence on the Indian psyche, OTM is once again hosting Cine Locales to connect Mumbai’s world-class film, TV and commercial industry with aspiring cinematic hot-spots.
Adventure & Experiential Travel Zone
OTM has launched an Adventure & Experiential Travel Zone dedicated to the growing demand of immersive travel. Focused on outdoor activities like trekking and parasailing, which are mostly sought out by millennials, this gives extreme sports and other adventure travel companies a chance to introduce themselves. The AET zone includes the National Park organizations of many countries.
ITM Pavilion
Over 31% of the global Muslim population resides in South Asia. Over 170,000 of the pilgrims for Haj are from India alone—a large enough number that Air India allows an extra 5KG on return flights from Mecca for the waters of ZamZam. A special ITM (Islamic Travel Mart) pavilion dedicated to the Haj, Umrah, Ziyarat and Halal travel market in India will join the upcoming edition of OTM, with the promise of providing full-fledged support to the specific needs of the Muslim travel industry. ITM’s
standalone event occurs in September, but their pop-up pavilion at OTM provides extra outreach for exhibitors like Halal Expo and Al Khalid.
Snapcard App
An exciting addition to the infrastructural support of the show has been Snapcard, an event-specific app which eliminates the need for paper business cards. For the past few years this popular new app has made OTM exchanges, navigations and meetings exponentially smoother. This year the app offers a new matchmaking feature which allows OTM to recommend specific meet-ups and connections based on each visitor’s profile.
